Introduction
Fond of dogs since childhood and animals lover, I started my interest in the Tibetan Mastiff in 1986, after seeing some pictures with related article in a monthly. Only some years later, in 1993, I bought my first Tibetan Mastiff, Bhotan Alatna, at the "Les mille vallees" Kennel. Since then, I have been working hard for a selection that I thought necessary in order to respect the most mytical and prestigious dog breed and to "ricreate" subjects deserving such a honour. Just then I realized the immense tragedy that had struck and was striking Tibet, the "Land of the snow", in the almost complete indifference, mine too.
Firmly delieving that the "Reconstruction" of that mastiff required both knowledge and respect of those people and their culture and taking in account the type of the dog still living in those wide lands, in recent years I have been trying to do something good, as far as I could.
I think the results are positive enough, as typical subjects have been produced by the few litters from my dogs. Moreover, thought I don't take into consideration the false, corrupt and foolish world of the dog shows, I still have the great satisfaction to have made Nor Pu, the only Italian Tibetan Mastiff "World Champion" till now. Also in the name of the real Tibetan Mastiff lovers, I just want to thank with affection Josette Pilat, a lighthouse in the tangled and stormy sea of the European breeding, and the friends of the "Deldharmapuri" Kennel who will continue this project in the best way, inspired from an authentic passion, competence and far-sightedness.
